Forest: Focus for Productivity App Reviews

A good balance of encouragement and tough love. And good design too.

I love the productivity points can be spent on planting a tree in developing countries. It is a good motivator to do more work sprints!

When I try to unlock a new tree, I get the never-ending loading wheel of death. Otherwise, cute app and works well to make me more productive.

Please add a feature which allows the user to predetermine which apps they can access while using Forest. I often need my dictionary app, so I dont use Forest. If this was added, Id change to 5 stars.

Great app for people with ADHD or phone/internet addiction. It does need an app white list. I NEED to text, call, and email clients from my phone about 20 times a day. So pretty much spent 2 bucks to only grow trees from my computer. At the very least give me an adjustable timer so I can give my self 30 seconds to respond to an email or text

This app makes staying focused very fun and it reminds me not to be cruising the Internet when I should be working or spending time with my family. Plus, I love that I can spend the points I earn to grow a real tree!!

This has so much potential. I want to love this app. • Whitelist email phone notes calculator (Business apps) •grow a forest, Show your progression by building an actual forest. It would like a garden for you to earn. • Friends sync to view their forest. Competition to promote productivity. • rewards system.

Im surprised at how well a fake tree has helped me stay on task. I put on a playlist or podcast, start the app and get to work. Its been awesome!!

I have extremely sever procrastination which literally haunts me like a nightmare because I just cannot make myself get stuff done without checking my phone or iPad every five minutes. This app has helped me a HUGE lot in stopping myself from getting on devices and actually getting work done. Some recommendation: maybe add some more interesting features like organise your forest so you can plant trees wherever you like or if you stay focus for a long time the tree grows into a bigger tree maybe treehouse?

The new update ruins my stats completely. I had everything organized by the notes I would write. I use this app to keep myself studying productively, and I labeled my tree sessions according to what I studied for. Now I cant use my previous sessions as points of reference for how much I should study for my exams.

If this app never changes, thatd be fine with me. As it stands, it provides just enough incentive to keep you from absent-mindedly browsing your phone and the difficult to achieve but real reward of getting a real tree planted is enough to make me want to use the app for many years. Fantastic product!

Love it

I love this app and watching my trees grow every week. I use this every day and love all the new features each update comes with. I really like the "big forest" and the new tagging system as well as all the new tree species. I truly believe forest has improved my grades and made me a better, more focused, person.

This is a fun app to void distractions.

Best app Ive seen so far to stop me from procrastinating. It doesnt block you from accessing anything, like most of them do; it makes you actually want to put your phone down so you dont kill your cute little tree. And once the tree grows, you get a sense of satisfaction that you resisted temptation. Positive reinforcement for the win!

Ive been using many apps that purpose to keep the phone away from me. And this app is best. Cuz, this app motivated me to do it.

This app has a great ui, and gently keeps me focused on the job. Ill plant a tree, put my phone down and reach for the phone a minute later to check Instagram or something and the app keeps me from doing that, something I sorely need. It doesnt lock you out of your phone so you can still use it, but you will feel bad for killing your poor tree if you do this so most things youd do on your phone to fritter away time go by the wayside and you stay on your work. A great app especially for such a small price tag!

We can all have a very hard time concentrating, especially if were tired or we are dealing with difficult subjects. This app is fantastic because it makes you feel as if you are actually producing something (trees) while blocking you from using all of your time wasting apps. The best thing is that after so many points you can plant a real tree and know that you have made a positive difference in the world by doing what you shouldve been doing the entire time.

I love this app. Once you set a timer and plant your tree, if you leave the app to browse your phone, then your tree will die. This simple concept has kept me off my phone for up to 2 hours, keeping me working and not letting my phone distract me. I highly recommend Forest to anyone who needs a little help focusing.
